Box-type resistance furnace in jewelry welding

Apr 27, 2025 0

The application of box-type resistance furnace in jewelry welding is mainly reflected in the following aspects:

1. Welding preparation: In the process of jewelry making, box-type resistance furnace can be used to heat metal parts to a suitable temperature for welding. This preheating helps to reduce the deformation and stress of the metal during welding.

2. Annealing treatment: After welding, jewelry may become hard or produce internal stress due to the heat generated during welding. Annealing treatment through box-type resistance furnace can eliminate these stresses and hardness, and improve the toughness and ductility of jewelry.

3. Color treatment: Some jewelry can change its surface color by heating at a specific temperature. Box-type resistance furnace can be used for this heat treatment process to achieve the desired color effect.

4. Hardening treatment: For jewelry parts that need to increase hardness, they can be hardened through box-type resistance furnace to enhance their wear resistance.

The following are some specific application steps of box-type resistance furnace in jewelry welding:

u Preheating: Place the jewelry in the furnace and heat it to a certain temperature, usually between 300°C and 600°C, depending on the type of metal and the design of the jewelry.

u Welding: Based on preheating, use laser welding, argon arc welding or other jewelry welding techniques for welding.

u Annealing: After welding, put the jewelry into the box-type resistance furnace again for annealing to eliminate welding stress.

u Cooling: After annealing, let the jewelry cool naturally to room temperature in the furnace, or use controlled cooling to prevent new stress from being generated by rapid cooling.

The application of box-type resistance furnace in jewelry welding requires precise furnace temperature control, because too high a temperature may damage the jewelry or affect the color and luster of the metal. Therefore, when using a box-type resistance furnace for jewelry welding, the operator needs to have certain professional knowledge and operating experience.
